ABOUT
Bruce Reis, PhD, FIPA, BCPsa is a Clinical Psychologist and Psychoanalyst in private practice in NYC. In addition to practicing full-time in Manhattan, Dr. Reis is a faculty member and Training & Supervising Analyst at the Institute for Psychoanalytic Training and Research (IPTAR), NY, and Assistant Clinical Professor (Adjunct) in both the Contemporary Freudian Track and Relational Track at NYU's Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. He has been a member of the Boston Change Process Study Group since 2010.
Dr. Reis is Regional North American Editor and Associate Editor for The International Journal of Psychoanalysis, former North American Editor for Book Reviews for The International Journal of Psychoanalysis, and former Editorial Board member of The Psychoanalytic Quarterly and Psychoanalytic Dialogues.
He has written extensively on intersubjectivity and non-interpretive mutative change processes in psychoanalysis and has recently authored the book Creative Repetition and Intersubjectivity: Contemporary Freudian Explorations of Trauma, Memory, and Clinical Process (Routledge). He co-edited Heterosexual Masculinities: Contemporary Perspectives from Psychoanalytic Gender Theory (Routledge).
